This one surpassed my expectations. I was a little hesitant about following the instructions provided. So I made up my own._x000D_Got 3 gals. to a boil then added entire contents of the can, stirring it in while off the burner._x000D_Kept at a boil for 40 mins._x000D_After 20 mins. I added 2 lbs. of Amber DME_x000D_Got a good 20 min cold break._x000D_Added to fermentor and topped off up to 5 gals (instead of recomended 6 - wanted it thicker.)_x000D_Pitched 2 packets of dry yeast: Muntons Gold, and whatever the no label stuff was that came with the kit._x000D_Fermented very strong. After 7 days I was bottling._x000D_Primed with 5 oz. of corn sugar, two weeks later was well carbonated. Four weeks later it produced a good creamy head and tasted excellent._x000D_ABV = 5.4%February 16, 2012My first attempt at home brewing......was a smashing success! This recipe was extremely easy to follow. I boiled the mixture for 45 minutes, added the required 2 kg of sugar half way through and was pooped. I went to bed and pitched the yeast in the morning after it had sufficiently cooled. When I bottled I added an additional quarter teaspoon to each bottle. The beer is fantastically carbonated making a head you could stand on. It has a nice amber color and is very smooth. I am not 100% sure what the alcohol content is (I question my hydrometer reading) but it warms you up pretty quickly. I recommend this beer and would buy it again.April 25, 2013My first big batchThis is really a good beer to do! Even though I was fermenting at too high of temperature, (80 or so), it still came out pretty not bad. I would recommend this to anyone looking to make an easy batch of strong tasty beer!June 29, 2013muntons nut brownThe taste was good....really. And so easy to do too. Just boil for a few minutes. Its a lot better than the Mr. Beer kits I use to make. Its got a nice color and mouthfeel.June 1, 2013Good for starter kitsThis is a step up from Mr. Beer. These Muntons kits let you make a variety of decent tasting beer pretty easily. I've made two of the 20 minute boil kits and they were good and used the Muntons extract.July 25, 2013
