Browse 2 questions Browse 2 questions and 8 answersWhen do you add the sugar to raise the alcohol level?BEST ANSWER: We found out that Orchard breezin is more of a wine cooler kit coming in at 5 to 6% ABV so We add a 4 pound bag of corn sugar under Step 1 after number 7 where you record your specific gravity. Then we continue on with 8 through 10
We have done this with 4 different kits and our alcohol has been anywhere from 9% to 12.79% so we think it's worth it. Who doesn't like more alcohol? :-)What's the starting S.G.?BEST ANSWER: You want the starting gravity per the instructions at 1.050-1.060 so it will make about 6% ABV without modification.
