Tinker with our recipes!
Plenty of homebrewers have won awards in competitions just by brewing one of our kits straight out of the box. But don't forget that you can add to many of our recipe kits and give them more dimension, or even a different flavor profile. Love our Imperial Stout? Try putting some cacao nibs or a vanilla bean in the secondary. Like the Irish Red Ale, but would like more hop flavor? Throw some extra hops in the boil. Love the Lawnmower de Saison? Try racking on top of cherries, blueberries or raspberries in the secondary. The possibilities are endless. Take a look at these suggestions, or try your own!
Hop up the Irish Red: Add 1/2 oz. of Cascade Hops with 20 minutes left in the boil and 1/2 oz. with 2 min left in the boil. This will add a bit more hop flavor and aroma.
Add fruit to the Lawnmower de Saison: Add fruit puree to the secondary; try Apricot or Blackberry.
Oak the Hex Nut Brown Ale: Add Medium Toast American Oak Cubes to the secondary for a great barrel aged version, take it a step further and soak the cubes in your favorite whiskey for a spirit barrel aged flavor.
Make a vanilla Power Pack Porter: Add 1-2 Vanilla Beans to the secondary to create a bright vanilla sweetness and flavor to complement the rich roasty flavor of this kit.
Dry hop the Red RyePA: Dry hop this kit with Citra Leaf Hops for a tropical boost to this spicy RyePA.
