3.7 / 5.011 ReviewsLove it!I make a couple different styles of beer, 5 gallons at a time in a keg. But that makes it more difficult to take to barbeques and get-togethers. I purchased the system with 4 mini-kegs and one Party tapper so I could take the smaller amounts that more easily fit into a cooler. I loved it so much, i purchased a second Party Star tapper for more options. I will probably even purchase another one. My only complaint is the high price tag. Love it love it love it.June 27, 2011WonderfulI have fun putting this together, piercing the bung, load the cartridge in the chamber, pressurize, pour, taste. functions well, easy to clean, disassemble and store near the cooler. kinda neat to have a German product to utilize the German 5Ls, consumed by an American. now i have another excuse to "recycle" the leftover 5Ls, with my home brew.September 30, 2011Fantastic set up.This is great for the brewer who wants to keg but doesn't want the expense of 5 gallon kegs and 5 gallons of kegged beer. One cartridge really does work for the entire 1.33 gallons! Great for anytime!January 7, 2011Good for partiesThese systems work well for bringing some homebrew to a party, but they do have their own drawbacks. The tapper gets sticky and needs to be cleaned regularly, and they were sometimes hard to get the handle to snap down on both sides. However, they are cheaper than a corny keg system, but looking back, I wish I had just made the jump to corny kegging and using a growler as the price difference is really worth it.January 28, 2013TemperamentalIts a good system but sometimes leaks. I tap and pressurize for parties , expecting for all the beer to be consumed that day. It's not really good for long term storage under pressure.November 30, 2013Good for partiesMake sit easy to bring some home brew to a party without a lot of equipment._x000D_It needs to be cleaned regularly as it gets sticky, and it sometimes leaks. The price makes it worth it though.February 3, 2014OK, does well with gravityI bought this for a way to have a little beer on tap without the big set up. Works ok and kind of fun but you'll need to tinker with the CO2 setting as the keg draws down. You will also go through the cartridges fairly quickly so if it's used a lot may want to think about a real keg system. My best application is to bring a mini keg to a gathering and tap by gravity, if any beer is left then slap on this CO2 tapper.February 10, 2014Have had good luck so farMine has not had any problems with leaking. It does have to be cleaned a lot and it can be hard to get the handle to snap down all around. Its good for bringing some good home brew to events but a keg system is still better. Its a lot less expensive though.September 6, 2013leaksMy tap leaks co2 the cartridge will be empty after sitting overnight. The unit works fantastic for the first 3 hours but somehow doesn't hold pressure. I will contact Midwest about this and alter my review if they are able to resolve my problem or replace with a functioning unit...September 7, 2011LeaksMy keg also leaks all the air out overnight. This has happened multiple times, even after wetting the tap before tapping. This system should be only used for bringing homebrew to a party for immediate consumption, and not as a replacement for bottling. There is no replacement for a Cornelius keg system period. Wish I put my money toward that.November 2, 2011

Can I purchase this piece separately?BEST ANSWER: We do not stock that part sorry, I am sure there are supply shops that do stock it. Maybe party star can help you identify a source or replace it themselves? Good luck!Does this take screw co2 carterage?
