This is the 6.5 gallon fermenter that comes with all of our homebrewing equipment kits, except this fermenter does NOT come with a lid. Gallons are marked on the side of this food grade fermenter to make it easy to know how much liquid is in the fermenter. You could also use this bucket for sanitizing all of your equipment.
This bucket is plastic and is a plastic bucket. It looks just like the one in the picture. It is a bucket alright. It holds the liquid because it is a bucket and not a flat thing. A+++ would bucket again.

Exactly what it is supposed to be.
This is a nice fermenting vessel if you do not have the funds to invest in glass, or do not want to deal with the weight of glass. With the additional lid, there is a nice air tight seal within this vessel. It is easy to clean, and the 6.5 gallon variety gives enough head room for a batch slightly over 5 gallons. Overall, this is a good value. I just wish the lid was included with the purchase.

Put Two Together and the Measurements Don't Match
The bucket is okay, but the measurements on the side are not necessarily good. I have two and the gallon measurements are there is a quarter inch difference between the two. I calibrated them and one is correct, the other is off. These measurements are important! Also, neither one is air tight like the others I have, so I see no airlock action which is frustrating.
