The pound of Carapils went into a NEIPA mash. The beer is still in the carboy but all appears well. The Carapils should add some nice head retention.
It does what the write up says. Using Briess Carapils gave me the best head retention and mouth feel of any beer I've made. It may have added some sweetness but it was hard to tell for certain since the Mosaic hops used in the recipe added sweet-seeming fruitiness to the flavor of this batch. A caution: it needs to go through a an all-grain style mashing at 150-155 F with a base malt to provide enzymes. The "Cara" in the name is misleading in that it is not actually a caramel malt and needs conversion of starches into sugars.
