Home Brew Heat Mat

Works great!

I've been using it for about 3 weeks with no problems, works great!

Use with a temperature controller

Its useful in a cold basement, with a temperature controller so you don't over heat the yeast. Make sure to place the fermentor on an insulated panel, not on cold concrete.

Use with a temperature controller

I have a temperature controller to keep the beer within a narrow temperature range (the swing is .5 degrees). It generates enough heat if you keep the fermentor wrapped up.

Works with duct tape

Get a good temperature controller, attach the probes, and secure it and it works. I used it all last winter and am getting ready to use it again. It has no problems maintaining heat, and it you put it in a styrofoam box, it will not need to go on much.
