This powerful classic is expressive on the palate with lively cherry fruit and a brisk acidity supported by ample smooth tannins. Our GenuWine Winery Dried Grape Skins and oak shavings provide a deep and lingering finish to this garnet wine.

Not sure if its a coincidence or not but this is the second Sangiovese Wine Kit and third wine kit I bought for Midwest over the last couple of years that had a 'Stuck' fermentation. So 'Stuck' that I could not get them to finish fermentation. The odd thing about it is I have never had a problem with wine kits bought from other wine kit supply stores. Very frustrating.
This was a great kit... easy to use. Wine came out very tasty upon bottling, and after 3 months it was exponentially better! I always take 6 bottles from each batch and stash them away so we have some really nicely aged wine for later. I've noticed that the kits that are a little more expensive are quite a bit better. Another thing I do that's worked well for me- I oak from the start time right up to the finish. I put the chips (along with a few extra purchased on Amazon) in a little mesh bag and tie the top so they don't get stuck in the valve when you're racking.
I enjoy all the products I get from Midwest especially the wine kits. Thank you!!!
Just decanted my first bottle and I am impressed with this wine and its price point. While it has been at least 2 years since I purchased a bottle of wine at a regional liquor store, I would have compared it with a $20/bottle, at least. Can’t go wrong with this one, regardless of your menu. We had it with a baked chicken enchilada dish because I had just drawn it today and didn’t want to wait until we had spaghetti tomorrow. It was good before, during and after supper!
