My standard pale ale malt. Works great for steeping. Adds a nice color and flavor.
I order my grains whole. When I roll them with a rolling pin you can smell the freshness. You could also use a 12 oz. glass long neck bottle to roll them.
Adds body and and helps a bit with head retention, like all caramels. This one contributes lighter caramel notes; not much different from the 60L (my go-to), except for a decrease in flavor. This is definitely not a bad grain, but unless you're seriously concerned about color, it would be more efficient to just go with the 60L, and use less if you want a later flavor
This is a good malt. Gives a nice light red color profile to your beer and has a somewhat sweet caramel flavor. This is a good malt for any beer lighter than a porter, IMO.
Perfect for a lighter caramel note for many styles of beer.
