DetailsThe Ryerish are a little-known group of merrymakers from Gaelic legend. A proud people, they are the ancestors of all modern redheads. As the story goes, they were given the gift of red hair to lend fiery expression to their natural predilection for storytelling and flamboyant expression. They were also known for their similarly expressive ales - some would say they were the original craft brewers, throwing caution to the wind and trying anything at least once. We’ve unearthed one of their most successful and popular recipes, and present it to you so that you may share in the pure enjoyment of their well-balanced craft.
The Ryerish Redhead balances spicy rye, toasty bread, and fruity caramel malts against a floral, pungent, powerful hop bill. It’s a bit beyond a session ale, but stays smooth and drinkable all the way through each hop-dimmed flagon. Expressive, yet cleanish American ale yeast rounds the soft malt and boosts the stone fruit character in the hops. Remember, the luck of the Ryerish rings through every moreish pint!

1 year agoGreat winter beerHad a few friends over on tapping day and this beer was a hit!
This group usually prefers IPAs so I did have some on standby.
I would call this a medium roast, not over the top but just right.
Usually one glass of this style is enough for me but this was lite enough and gravity was low enough to have another without forgetting your name.
I did the all grain with the Danstar yeast not sure I’d change a thing. Possibly split a batch and hop half a little heavier for the hop hunters
Will definitely new again!February 14, 2018Reason for the seasonThis is the reason for the season. This Ryerish was just what the Doctor ordered. Smooth, great taste and great finish. Glad I thought far enough in advance to make this for St. Patrick's Day. We will make this one again.March 17, 2014My First Experience with All GrainTook a road-trip and got our All Grain setup from Midwest last Fall. We will be doing two 5-gallon batches each brew-day. This one was my choice of the two._x000D__x000D_Technically, this was my second All Grain batch on my very first All Grain Brew Day. We only had time to do two kits of All Grain so far. Now that it's Spring time, All Grain season for us begins! Can't wait for our next Brew Day! Well, on to the details..._x000D__x000D_This beer is wonderful! I like to drink a toasty beer once in a while. This kit was perfect! I like it better than any other toasty beer I've had to date! It wasn't overly toasty, just a subtle hint to add to the flavor. IMO, this is the best beer I've made. Others may disagree. We also made a Ferocious Kit that day. Most seemed to like that one better. They both turned out better tasting than any Extract Kit we've made. Glad to make the jump._x000D__x000D_I would make this kit again. However, with so many recipe's to try, it might be awhile before I get back to this one. Thumbs way up!April 13, 2014
