Maybe a little too fine
i tried this to keep stray grains and larger particles out of my beer, and to aerate the wort as it flows into the bucket.. It does clog easily, so what i do is I turn off the spigot, and use sterilized water in a spray bottle to spray off the clogged grit._x000D_It's kind of a pain, and I wish it was a little coarser.

Too fine
The strainer does a great job of preventing grain and particles from making it into the fermenter._x000D__x000D_Its a good quality strainer, unfortunately the mesh is too fine, and it clogs if there is any hops residue in your wort. The problem is once it clogs, its difficult to get the wort off of it, so you can clean it. I used the end of the tube to lightly brush it, but that's not ideal.

Fits the strainer
I keep my stuff in the garage and don't use my strainer regularly. One day when I needed to use it, I couldn't find the strainer , just the funnel. This replacement puts me back in service (and sure beats straining through a cheese cloth).

Fits but clogs
It's good because nothing gets around the sides. The difficulty I encountered is there are more fine particles than i expected in my wort, and this strainer catches everything, and clogs. What I needed to do was repeatedly stop the flow, dump the pool of wort back into the pot, then spray off the mesh with a squirt bottle and star it up again. That and using a small foam brush to scrape holes through the ooze to allow liquid through. It took a long time but I got it done. The moral of the story is - be careful and don't let hops get out of a hops bag.

For large particles
This is a fine mesh and will catch everything. If you have lots of small particles (like if your hops bag tears) then this is going to catch that and block. It's almost too effective.

Good to have after many brew sessions
This is a good replacement strainer for your funnel. The original lasted a long time but it was nice that I could easily replace the strainer without having to buy a new funnel.

Handy Filter
I have only used it once and it worked well to filter my hops with no clogging. Kept my wort clean. Works we'll.

Clogged too easily
I tried to use this on a very hoppy IPA as well as a minimally hopped Java Stout and in both cases it clogged within seconds. It is cheap to try out but I will not be using mine ever again.

Good idea but it falls short
The Idea is good but the mesh is to fine if you have hops in your wort. It almost instantly plugs and completely stops flowing... not fun! I havent tried it on anything else yet but it might work for very light straining tasks...

Disappointed. Won't use again.
I bought this screen to go along with my funnel. I though th concept was great. However, after using it two times now, I won't use it again. I had all my hops in bags and my trub was minimal and the screen still clogged. I plan to find other ways to keep trub out of my beer because this screen is too fine.
