A harmless trick on your light-lager-loving friends. All the drinkability and refreshing crispness of a summer brew with the fruity, fresh flavor of the fall hop harvest. Soft malt character supports a substantial ABV that resonates in strategic bursts of berry, melon, floral and sweet cantaloupe flavor of Ekuanot and Calypso hops. Nearly champagne-like in its effervescence, Sabotage meddles in the affairs of a classic farmhouse ale, pulling off a suspiciously crowd-pleasing saison-pale-ale hybrid.

Pretty much exactly as described
Excellent kit with great instructions, as always. More forward fruit than i expected, complemented nicely with a mild hoppy finish. Great summer or fall brew. Totally enjoying drinking this one.

Excellent summer brew
I fermented this one in in true saison style. I started fermentation around 67, but quickly stepped it up each day 3 degrees, until I hit around 85 degrees and left it there for around 2 weeks. There were no fusel alcohols produced and the flavor was tart, lemony, peppery, simply fantastic. I had a Tank 7 Farmhouse ale this past weekend and reminded me of this beer.

Split personality
A very unique brew. A saison with citrus and floral hops. Tried a bottle yesterday and not sure how else to describe it. Another week or two and I’ll update y’all on what I think of it.

perfect late summer early fall beer
needed a brew for mid to late August gathering and this is the perfect one. 3 to 4 weeks in the secondary is just right. You get that slight fruity taste to begin and a nice hoppy taste at the end. The domestic lager drinkers will probably even like it.

Response from Midwest Supplies

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry you had an unpleasant experience with this kit. What kinds of bad flavors are you tasting? If you wanted to give me a little bit more detail I would be happy to help figure out what went wrong.

Beer is in the secondary fermenting stage right now. I will be bottling next week, so the wait is on in 3 weeks i will know if i made the right selection.

What is the alcohol content?
A shopper on May 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Original gravity was 1.053, final 1.010- would estimate alcohol content to be about 5.5-5.6%.
Is this one of the 60 minute style kits?
A shopper on Nov 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it requires a 60 minute boil. I recommend having fun with the fermentation temps and letting them rise higher then normal which will enhance the tart, spicy kind of flavors popular with saisons
Any idea what the IBU on this is? It used to be on the box.
Matthew P on Jun 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: IBU can vary based on the alpha acid used in the hops. There are calculators that you can use but your IBU should end up between 45-55. Cheers!
what are the brewing ingredients with this kit?
A shopper on Dec 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Gold LME 6.3 lbs, Gold DME 1 lb
Specialty grains- 8 oz caramel 20
Hops- 1oz Calypso, 2 oz Equinox
5 oz priming sugar

I chose Belle Saison yeast.

Haven't brewed this one yet but have brewed Lawnmower de Saison twice and it was fantastic. In both instances, I added a half bottle of Saison DuPont to secondary to add some funk from a Belgian brew.
What is the specialty grain in this recipe and the amount?
A H on May 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 1/2 lb of Caramel 20L
