More Like Sierra Nevada Lite
This kit produces an excellent ale. It's just not really close in flavor to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale though. The hops character dominates with a light bodied beer that lacks the malty character of the prototype. But regardless whether the kit succeeds as a clone, it certainly succeeds on its own merit as a fine, lighter, American ale.

Purty good
I really enjoyed the cascade hops and saw alot of similarities with the original. Definately a great ale and came out a bit darker than the original but still looks great. I will be doing this again. the three stars are for the $10+ for shipping.

It doesn't get any better than this!
My second effort at home brewing and WOW! Everyone loves it and so do I. I upgraded the kit to include Wyeast 1056 in hopes that it would keep me as close as possible to the S.N. original. Side by side with S.N. Pale Ale, this has a deeper color and a firmer head but the first impression is that while the overall flavor is well matched, the S.N. has a more prounounced hop finish. This kit might benefit from dry hopping with an ounce or two of Cascade. But on its own merits, its a great brew and I will do this again.

Great Tasting
It is a great tasting beer. I was looking for something with a little hop flavor for this batch. I followed the directions and after putting 6 bottle to the side the rest went into a keg. Turned out great and definitely compares to the real deal. This is now one of my favorites and will be ordering again.

Love It!
Following the advice of other reviewers, I added the extra pound of DME and extra hops and just loved it! I took the added step of bottling with DME instead of the corn sugar that was included and I think it made a nice and notable difference. It took a little while longer in the bottle but well worth it. It's funny, I'm actually looking forward to finishing my stock so I can brew it again.

Crisp and Delicious
Brewed 3/4/12. Bottled 3/26/12. Tasting notes from 4/26/12-'fermentation temp. 68F, at the bottom end for this yeast(WL001). Strong fermentation regardless. Beer pours a beautiful golden color. Aroma is citrusy, slightly piney hops. Lemon stands out just a bit in the citrus. 1st sip is all hops. More citrus & grapefruit flavors flood the mouth. Crisp yet smooth. Mouthfeel is a little thin when compared to the original but it's homebrew and it doesn't need to be exact. Adding some body building malts would help if desired. Malt sweetness is there but in the background. Finish is long and hoppy but not cloying. A very nice beer and another one to add to my list of 'house' beers'. As stated in other reviews, I brew extract beers a little different than the instructions sent so my color may be a bit lighter and my BU's may be a bit higher. I add the majority of the extract for the last 15min of the 60min boil. This reduces wort darkening and increases hop extraction. My bittering hops are boiled in the grain steep water and with 1lb of extract only. A little extract is needed in the kettle for various reasons. Cheers.

Very Close to SN
Brewed this batch exactly as it came. I did use Wyeast American Ale. Primary for 1 week and secondary for 2 weeks. Bottled and tried after 2 weeks and was very impressed. Other than color this brew is very similiar to Sierra Nevada. I was skeptical of a 'clone' kit but after brewing this batch I'll be sure to try another Midwest clone kit. Like another reviewer said this batch does have a more profound hop flavor than Sierra Nevada but that is exactly what I wanted. I will for sure brew this again in the future....brew on!

Perfect every time
Brewed this one twice already and its my favorite, its been very consistent and the flavor is very close comparison to Sierra Nevada...amazing beer! Thanks guys. I will be ordering this one everytime I get a kit.. I used the white labs yeast vial, simple and easy, and worth the extra couple of bucks. Good job!!

Very NIce Beer!
The beer was very good. I wouldn't say that it was a clone to SNPA, but it was a very good beer. I did a late extract brew, adding the all the liquid malt during the last 15 minutes of the boil. Dry hopped 1 ounce of Cascade pellets in the secondary for 1 week. I added 1 LB of DME in order to boost the alcohol content. 1 week in the primary, 2 weeks in the secondary, 30 PSI for 2 days then purged the keg and set the pressure to 8 PSI. I started drinking the beer immediately and didn't notice any real difference after it had conditioned in the keg for 3 additional weeks. The hops did start to loose aroma as the keg aged. Pale Ale's are not my favorite (I brewed this one for a friend) and I am not sure if I would make this beer again. It was a really nice beer, great flavor and quality, just not my cup of tea.

Citrusy/dry and hoppy
Just a very tasty beer- If you like a refreshing/slightly dry after taste with a nice hoppy aroma-but not too much-this is a good choice- I usually have 3 beers on tap- a wheat/ a mild drinking ale and a stout/lager or ale with more hoppiness- this one will surely be one I put in the rotation._x000D_( I keg my beer- not sure how bottling will turn out.)_x000D_
