To be SS.I don't fully understand what your asking but the ball bearings "snap" into place and as long as it's the right diameter and you use hose clamps when you can everything should stay sealed. I did loose a bearing in one and it still seals it's just a pain to get off, hope that helps cheers!I want to get a really tight fit on a 1/2 barb, will the 3/8 ID tubing work? Or will I need to use 7/16?Stainless Steel Female Quick Disconnect 1/2" BarbBEST ANSWER: I use both 3/8 and 1/2 ID thermoplastic tubing with these QDs; no problems getting a good fit or seal. Use a good hose clamp and you shouldn't have any issues at all.If I want to use this QC onsilicone tubing and then connect it to a male QC that screws into a 1/2" ball valve or 1/2" cooler bulk head.
Is there a connector that works with this? I get the impression that they are not all interchangeable.BEST ANSWER: The one you'd want here would be SKU 40857. This will thread into a ball-valve, and would connect correctly with this part. All these quick disconnects will work together, except for the one labeled "CO2 QuickCoupler" That's a different system, and is not compatible with these other ones. -Mike W, Midwest Supplies
