Serve it ice cold (even over ice for really hot days) or use it as the base for the best Sangria you've ever had: it's like wine and fruit salad all at once!

Tasty stuff
I bought this kit to make a refreshing summertime drink and because most of my friends and family do not like traditional wine. I would describe this as more of a light, fun, beverage, similar to a wine cooler.

I made one change to the kit, I used Red Star Cote des blanc yeast rather than the Lalvin EC-1118 yeast that is included. I'm just not a fan of the EC-1118, it ferments great but I don't like the dry product it produces.

I started this kit on 4/1/17, O.G. 1.058; racked on 4/11/17, S.G. .998, racked again on 4/16/17, S.G. .998. Bottled on 4/23/17.

I tried the first bottle this past weekend. The wine was tasty and smooth. It had an aroma of strawberry; however, it didn't really taste much like strawberry. I gave a few bottles out to friends and family and have gotten good reviews. I recommend this kit to anyone who likes a light and smooth wine-like drink.
The finished product of Strawberry Zinfandel. I named this batch "Summer School".

Strawberry?
Has a nice sweetness to it. Doesn't have a hint of strawberry flavor. Tastes more like a sangria blend. Disappointed.

Made for an excellent Christmas Gift!
Been brewing beer for 3+ years, and decided to give this one a try. Was my second attempt at wine... first being a Pink Moscato that came out terrific.

Instructions were very easy to follow, however primary fermentation seemed somewhat slow... even in a full temperature controlled fermentation chamber. However, the slow primary fermentation didn't detract from the final product that came out absolutely terrific.

Ended up yielding approx. 27 bottles and gave about 20 of them away as Christmas Gifts to family and friends. Was an absolute hit and everyone LOVED it! Even had a few friends come back and ask for more... leaving the wife with only a few bottles left! I guess it's time to make more!!

Easy to drink
This wine is extremely easy to drink. It is a little more dry than I had expected (but only slightly) and my final ABV was not as strong as I would like at only 8.6%. However the non-wine drinkers in my family love it and they're who I bought and made this for!

Great tasting wine.
Great tasting wine and really easy to make. You can drink this right away. It's easy to bottle in the half gallon bottles with screw on lids.

First wine
It is not as sweet as I had hoped. Looking into adding something to sweeten it. The directions are very clear as long as you read them all before starting
Glass on the right is mine. Glass on the left is store bought.
This is the 2nd day of the clearing. It's not as sweet as I hoped but working on adding something

Nice color, very tasty!
A nice sweet fruity wine, the recipe has you racking the wine 3 times before bottling, I guess that helps to clear it.

A hit with the family
My instruction reading was not up to par with this one, oops on fermenting the strawberry in the primary. But it turned out fine anyway. Made for the many non-red, non-dry wine drinkers in my family, and it is a big hit. Back-sweetened just enough to make refreshing - maybe this will be the vehicle to start moving them into "regular" wines.

Might make good wine (when I get the replacement parts together)
This is the second 'small batch' kit that I have purchased from this maker, and the second time that I have been disappointed.
Both kits have suffered from leaky additive packets - the first (Pinot Noir) had a leaky siligel vial, and this kit has a dried out Kieselsol pack.
I could go after Midwest and I'm sure that they'd quickly bend over backward to make it right, but I intend my comment here to reflect the unreliability of the manufacturer's product.
I am sure that the wine "kit" will yield a suitable wine just like the first one, but definitely not before I go to my LHBS shop to get new clarifying agent. ...again.
Personally, I'm done with MV.

BEST ANSWER: Sweet
How do you know which bag is the juice bag or the fruit essence bag?
A shopper on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The juice bag is always the bigger of the two
What is the ABV % on finished wine?
Linda H on Feb 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These kits are around 12%. We use them as a base for fermenting our own special flavor. We add a few more flavors/juices to and sugar to our ferment and our finished wine is about 30% ABV. We base all our times to the Hygrometer{Float} to rack and finish{approx. 7weeks for us.} If you just use only the kit it is ok but only about 12-14%.
How do I find the instructions to make this wine?
A shopper on Dec 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The instructions come with the kit. You can also review them online if you search for them.
