4.9 / 5.020 ReviewsVery Popular Clone KitAs someone who has a lot of friends who drink Summit, I can say this has been a hit many times over. I typically have a keg in the Keezer, and one in firmenting... Always a good one to have ready, while you experiement with others...January 21, 2013summit aveA good kit. We used wyeast with ours. Flavor was good and we liked the hop combination. Our ABV was 5.3%, which was just right for us.June 5, 2013summitGreat beer! Very well balanced, not too hoppy or bitter. Great color and head retention too. Will buy again.July 11, 2013Better than SummitI made this at the request of a friend concerned about the possibility of the legislature increasing the alcohol tax. He said it was better than real Summit. I gave him a Midwest catalogue, maybe a new customer!July 21, 2013Pretty TastyNot too aggressive, not too simple. It came out a little darker than I'd anticipated, but it tastes great, with a consistently full head.November 13, 2013Great Tastethe wife loves summit EPA so I made some for her. she likes the taste but i think i screwed up the carbonation process. hopefully i can fix this and save the batch.January 25, 2014Balanced aleI used the smack pack and made a starter. The flavor was good and I liked the hop combination. 2 weeks primary, then kegged for 2 more, and then tapped.March 3, 2014Good beer judged on it's own meritsI had some of the real thing when when in Minnesota, but it's not sold around here, so this kit was a natural. Its not an exact clone, but it does taste good. Friends like it too. It came out darker than I expected but that didn't affect the taste.March 19, 2014Tasted better than...One of the first I've ever brewed. Used the stock Muntons dry yeast, followed directions and made a few mistakes along the way...whoops...did I steep at 180? That being said, the beer turned out quite well and a side by side comparison with the local EPA by a few friends were favorable to the homebrew...Yay! A bit of a different taste and aroma (oh...did I mention I might have also burned a little extract?) but a winner nonetheless. Happy with the kit and the beer making experience...now on to new brews!October 1, 2014
