DetailsA Brew Kettle of Epic Proportions!
The 10-gallon Tall Boy® kettle is a boil kettle that will last you a lifetime. This kettle will grow with you and can easily integrate into the future All-Grain system of your dreams.
Ideal for: 5 or 6 gallon batches, but with plenty of space for Brew-In-A-Bag methods as well.
This is no repurposed stock pot. The Tall Boy® is made specifically for homebrewers. Brew scientists have determined that the ideal height to diameter ratio for a brew kettle should be 1.2:1 in order to optimize boil performance. The Tall Boy reduces evaporative losses, and less evaporative cooling means a more vigorous boil. A vigorous boil means more volatilization of off flavors, and better hop utilization. All of that means better beer. Add to that it’s 4mm thick tri-clad bottom, designed to stop bullets and prevent scorching, and you’ve got a serious brewer’s tool. The Tall Boy logo is laser etched into the surface as a subtle indication to the world that you take brewing seriously.

4.8 / 5.018 ReviewsHeavy DutyEverything about this kettle is made to last. Sidewalls are very thick, and the bottom is built like a tank. Exceeded my expectations by far. This isn't a knock, because it's my own fault for not researching more, but it's not really big enough for 5 gal brews. I've had slight boilovers even when keeping a very close eye on it. Save yourself the worry and shell out an extra $20 for the 10 gal version. This thing will last a lifetime and $20 is nothing over a lifetime.December 17, 2016Quality pot with no frillsThis pot would get five stars if it had graduated markings inside. Everything else about it is great.January 9, 2016Great ProductI was impressed with the thick gage of the pot, the triple clad bottom and the quality overall design of this brewing pot.January 31, 2016February 6, 2016Great for the priceSolid construction, bottom is actually thicker than advertised (5mm). Very happy with it!December 1, 2015Nice upgradeSolid kettle. I had my eye on Tall Boys because they appeared to be just like the Megapots but without the rubber handles and without the price. Nice upgrade from my aluminum pot which is now my hot liquor tank.March 19, 2016Great!The Tall Boy is a perfect size for a full brew and just I needed to step up my brewing process.August 3, 2016Amazing kettle. I wish I had it starting out.My time with this kettle was short but my love will live on forever. Solid construction, easy to clean, and the envy of all my buddies. I had to sell mine before a long distance move but I will have another one day soon. An all around great kettle.February 11, 2017Purchased
over 2 years agoTall Boy Brew Kettle; a great buy for beginner brewersI just got into the hobby of homebrewing and while I wasn't expecting a brew kettle to be close to $100, it was a fantastic investment for future uses. I can make standard 5 gallon batches in the kettle with plenty of extra room so it never feels like I'm close to boiling over or sloshing. The extra room also helps for the displacement when the wort chiller is put in. Build quality is good, not too heavy but not too light. The top is a bit thin, but it's the top to a brew kettle, so it seems more like a formality than a necessity anyway.February 9, 2016

Browse 6 questions Browse 6 questions and 12 answersI heard these pots are spun steel and therefore cannot be drilled in, as in drilling a hole for a heating element, is that true?BEST ANSWER: You are correct. Before your drill bit could penetrate the spun steel it would bind and spin the pot so fast that you would go back in time; or forward to the future depending on which side of the equator you live.Actual dimensions?BEST ANSWER: Need the actually inside diameter to fit a heating element..Does this kettle have volume markers?BEST ANSWER: It doesn’t, but my husband made volume markers with a Sharpie on the outside of the kettle. He measured out water in a gallon jug. The marks weren’t affected by the heat during brewing. He really loves the Tall Boy; it was a Christmas gift. Highly recommends it.What is the thickness and grade of the stainless steel?BEST ANSWER: The wall thickness of the 8 and 10 gallon is .08 mm; the larger ones are 1mm thick. The bottom portion is 400-series, and the walls are of 201-series stainless steel.Julian: since you have bought this would you please check to see if a magnet will stick to the bottom of this kettle. For induction, the thicker the better as long as it is strongly magnetic.
ThanksBEST ANSWER: Tall Boy kettles do have magnetic/steel bottoms and are conducive to induction cooking. There are numerous forum posts out there from urban home brewers using Tall Boys with induction cooktops as an option to outdoor burners. Is there a basket that can be used with or is compatible with this kettle for an electric element biab setup?BEST ANSWER: Hi Neil,
Thanks for contacting us about this. If you're looking to do electric, I'm sorry to say that we do not carry the heating elements necessary for this. Feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions.
