Its well-balanced multi-grain backbone offers approachability, yet this radically malt and hop forward transformation of the classic red ale is fully deserving of a double-take. Home-grown Cascade reminiscent of California grapefruit groves impart a citrus twist for a sessionable brew-next-door that's engagingly drinkable yet, without boasting, knows how to leave an impression. - Details & Instructions

5.0 / 5.01 ReviewVery surprised at mouth feel and flavor. This was my first attempt to brew a 1 gallon batch of beer. I love to brew however 5 gallons at a shot reduces the amount of different styles I can try over a given period of time. Directions were very straight forward and easy to follow. I did make a couple of changes however. I steeped the grans at 154 degrees for 20 minutes, raised the "tea" to 168 degrees and placed the grain bag in a strainer and used steeped brew to sparge the grain before proceeding to the boil. The final product was excellent, which brings me to my final conclusion. One gallon is not enough!!
