Easy to clean. Won't spill mercury into your wort. Get it.

So convenient.

I was enjoying the convenience of mine for my first couple of batches 'til I inadvertently dropped it into my sanitizing bucket--killed it. I'd thought that it would've been sealed, but I suppose not. Perhaps a dumb move/assumption on my part.
It clips right onto the kettle and has a good-sized dial, so there's no guesswork when steeping grains or checking on how close to boiling the wort is. It was accurate enough (but not truly accurate) against other thermometers, so I'll subtract one star, but close enough for sure. The convenience and quickness of registering temps were such that I'll be ordering another soon. Recommended.

Easy to read and use. Read 7 degrees off now, not sure if ever accurate.
(Midwest Note: You can use the nut behind the dial to calibrate...Dial thermometers *should* be calibrated now and then to ensure an accurate reading.)

I filled the seem AND covered the adjustment nut with JB WELD. Hot/cold/hot/cold made my last nut crack and filled glass with vapor.
I SEALED THIS ONE. works good but wonder why manufacturer doesn't think of this.

Used mine for the second time and the dial won't ever go under 100 degrees. End up using the old meat thermometer to see if my wort cooler has worked. The clip that holds it to to the pot is difficult to use and I'm constantly re-adjusting it. Works good to monitor your steeping temp. so all isn't lost.

not bad for the price

it needs a longer probe in my opinion. i have a 44 quart boil pot and it barely reaches the water while heating up strike water. it works fine for over 5 gallon boils

Ok, but off by 5-6 degrees

I have many thermometers, but wanted one with a long shaft. This read off by 5-6 degrees. Would be nice if you could calibrate it. Other than that, seems well built.

Mines been broke from day one. The dial constantly just spins around. Ive tried everything witn no luck. Everytime i get it calibrated and super glued i can use it once and once its bumped the dial just spins all over again.
Spend the extra few bucks and get a goo one
