Soda Making Ingredients

Making soda with extracts is easy and usually involves two approaches, either natural or forced carbonation. Natural carbonation involves letting yeast begin to ferment the sugars available in the soda in a closed container (glass or PET bottle). The amount of CO2 produced carbonates the soda before any real alcohol is produced.

Sprecher Brewing Company 1-gallon concentrates contain sodium benzoate. This preservative means that you cannot naturally carbonate this by adding yeast, and you must force carbonate with a kegging system. All flavors contain one gallon of syrup and yield five gallons of soda so a 5-gallon keg works perfectly!
