This brew is so good- I love it Review by JT

Product Rating:

I wasn't sure of it when I bought it but the brew turned out creamy, crisp, and smooth. I added a clementine to the 2nd fermentation and it turned out wonderful. If you like a hefen, this is a good one.

Excellent Hefe Brew Review by AWC

(Posted on 9/11/14)

Product Rating:

I definitely recommend this brew if you're a fan of Hefes. You can definitely taste the undertones of banana and cloves, and its not overpowering. I agree with other reviews, it did turn out darker than expected, however don't let that fool you on the taste! If you're on the fence deciding to try it, go for it, its worth it.

Darker that i Thought Review by Joe

Product Rating:

It was a lot darker than I was expecting. almost more like and amber or darker. I did add some lemon juice at the end of the boil. Good flavor and it gets better after sitting in the bottle more than 4 weeks.

Darker than I expected Review by jakesemi

Product Rating:

Just got done with this brew. Pretty uneventful though, not alot to do during the boil. however very good taste lots of banana flavor. excellent brew for beginners like myself.
Also I used the Wyeast which caused a darker beer than i expected for a finished product.

Came out crisp and tart Review by Jeff

I was not sure at first about this. I did not get some of the same flavors as others did. I used the White Labs WL300. Mine seems to have a tart "lemon" like flavor and adding some lemon slice to it like in the photo added to the flavor. It reminds me of one of the summer shandy type beers I had last year. After two weeks in the bottle the carbonation was good and the flavor was good. We will see after a few more weeks.

Very Good! Review by ttteall

Used the whilte labs yeast, Vigorous ferment I hit FG in 3 days, bottled at 7 days, Kept the primary at 68-70 degrees hoping for more banana, Ive had a lot of commercial and Micro brew wheat bears and this one is my favorate by a big margin.. Banana Creme pie in a glass.

Tasty but dark Review by Jack

Product Rating:

Great nose and flavor using the suggested wyeast. However this makes a dark wheat. We did a blind taste test with my beer against 6 different bottles of brand name wheats and hefeweizens and this beer was among the darkest two, even darker than branded dunkels. I didn't win the tasting, but did finish in the top 3 and nobody guessed mine as the homebrew.

A great brew for all levels of homebrewers Review by West Bend Beer Man

(Posted on 3/31/14)

Product Rating:

This is a great beer, and with all homebrew, the hardest part is the wait. In fact, I have a buddy who loves this brew as much as the Fat Tire itself. It is a very easy brew, so anyone can do this one well. I use the White Labs yeast and add Irish Moss for the last part of the boil. The only other modification I did was use 1.5 oz of the Northern Brewer bittering hops instead of the 1.0oz that is included in the kit.
This beer continues to be a crowd pleaser. Enjoy. Zum Wohl!

I added the zest of two large oranges Review by Dobson

Product Rating:

A good intro kit for newer brewers. It's got just a few ingredients, is easy to brew, and tastes great. Very drinkable, and one of the best kits I've brewed recently.

great beer for non beer lovers Review by jayg

Product Rating:

This is a great summer time beer. it drinks crisp, fruity and easy. Now in the middle of winter it's still great. This is one of those beers that are great to have around in fridge for your friends who don't appreciate some of the other beers.
