Crisp with a great flavor Review by sneekysneeky

Product Rating:

Very pleasantly surprised by this recipe. The coriander gives it a distinct flavor that isn't too overpowering, but unlike most beers you'll encounter.

You CAN make a killer wheat beer!!! Review by Lump_digity

You will be surprised with the clean, fresh taste of this brew. It is excellent. Try adding zest of 1 lemon 10 remain in boil with zest of 1 clementine orange. Then use 1/4 of a lemon zest in the secondary. Its really good. I also adjusted the hops by adding 1/3 saaz at 15 remain and 2/3 at 2 remain.
Highly recommended extract kit.....oh, and get a big kettle to do a full volume boil, it makes a huge difference.

Won a Homebrew Competition for me! Review by Luke

Brewed this one a couple years ago. I entered it in a competition against 8 or 9 other beers for the "taster's choice" award. It won by a landslide! Huge crowd pleaser! Recipe called for the zest of half a lemon... I used a whole one. It was over-the-top summertime deliciousness.

MMMM-MMM Lemon, Coriander, Hops....and high gravity too!....Yum. Review by HomeBrewGuru

I brewed this beer the first week of March. During the brew I added an extra ounce of Hallertau Pellet Hops half way through the boil to give the beer some extra complexity. For $1.62 how could you go wrong and who doesn't like a little extra hops. Other than that I followed the included instructions. I sprung for the Activator yeast, its $4.00 more, but the bag swells up plump to let you know its working and you get a strong steady ferment because its a liquid... I let it ferment in the primary for ten days then bulk conditioned in the secondary for two months.

I bottled this beer into 48 12oz'ers and after two weeks of priming I popped the top to test her out...

This beer is crisp and refreshing. It is pretty light in color, sparkling with fizz, but doesn't have that great of head retention. If you have the time, bulk condition it and you will get a nice cloudy wheat beer appearance without all the junk that you sometimes get from not letting it settle all the way out. The taste is great and just what I was looking for. When you take a sip you can immediately taste the lemon and coriander. Then the earthy hops taste comes through on the finish.

This beer is easy to drink and has very little bitterness even with the extra hops. It does have a good alcohol kick, but you won't be able to taste it if you condition properly.

I recommend this beer for every beer drinker as a good hot afternoon beer. Ahh...refreshing.

Mostly followed the instructions, added 1/2 the zest of an orange, and 1/2 from the lemon with 10 left in the boil, and the rest of both in the carboy for secondary.I've tried a few commercial wheats with lemon, etc., and like this much better. Will make this again.

Great Beer! Review by Superdave

Product Rating:

I really enjoyed this beer. It has a perfect mouthfeel, smell, taste, and drinkability.

My only thought is that perhaps, this recipe would be better with a lighter malt? Maybe an extra light dry malt? Usually, wheat beers are lighter than this one.

Definetly a croud pleaser Review by Doug the Plumber

I like hoppy beers and a lot of my friends mostly females don't care for them. This one is a crowd pleaser. Gone in two weeks :)

Stick to the recipe Review by Scott

I brewed this a year ago and really liked it. I tried it again this year and added extra lemon zest and the zest of 1/2 of an orange and the citrus flavor is overpowering. I'm going to let it sit for a couple months to see if it will calm down.

Good brew but I'd stick to the recipe.

Complex and a bit sweet Review by Gene

(Posted on 1/11/11)

Product Rating:

This was my first beer. Easy to follow directions with the kit.

I ended up going with all the other reviews and doing the zest of a whole lemon. I was surprised at how little of the lemon flavor came through in the end.

My wife picked this one out and she loves it. A lot of the sugars were finished out in the bottle conditioning, but it's still a bit too sweet for my taste.

Still a great beer with a complex flavor!
