2.5 Gallon Mini Draft System (New Keg)

This system works by adding 3 oz. of corn sugar and waiting for the beer to naturally carbonate in the keg. After 2 - 3 weeks, the beer is dispensed using a compact CO2 Injector. This injector typically uses one 16 gm. CO2 cartridge to dispense the beer. CO2 is for dispensing only and will not force carbonate the beer in any way. 4 feet of low foam liquid line and a standard picnic tap will pour glass after glass of your favorite home brew. You'll be everyone's best friend when you show up at a party with 3 gallons of homebrew ready to serve. Durable corny kegs allow you to bring your brew camping, fishing, hunting or anywhere you never thought possible before. Hey NASA, how about the moon?

System includes:

  • 2.5 gallon soda keg
  • CO2 injection system
  • Ten 16 gm. CO2 cartridges
  • ball lock CO2 fitting
  • ball lock liquid fitting
  • 4 feet low foam line
  • and picnic tap

High Quality Equipment Review by Neal

A very nice mini-keg with many extras thrown in ! It will fit in a small fridge which is a plus for me ! The ball lock fittings are superb, and for a picnic or any outdoor activity, this would be the item to have. Just be sure to keep the C02 charger away from children, I give mine a few shots of C02, then unplug it.

Perfect Starter System Review by Hacklespur

I purchased this system because I wanted a keg that would fit into my fridge and not displace all on my food. The quality of the keg is top notch.

I filled the keg with half a batch of my latest brew and bottled the other half. The evening after I kegged I went to move it and noticed beer leaking out of the top. I attempted to reseat the lid and that did not solve the problem. After some quick research I decided to try adding some presure to the keg to see if I could get the lid to seat properly. That did the trick! A quick shot of CO2 and the lid seated perfectly.

The keg fits perfectly in my fridge and it really doesn't take up as much room as I had imagined. I keep the picnic tap in a small tupperware container to help keep it from messing up the fridge.

I am getting a much nicer head from the kegged beer than from the bottles and the kegged beer has a slightly cleaner flavor.

All in all I am very happy with my purchase! I just wish I hadn't waited so long to start kegging :-)

I "bottled" half my batch of Belgium pale Ale in this keg, waited 2 weeks, chilled and served. I will likely finish off the keg tonight. Had fresh tap beer for past 2 weeks. Love it. CO2 system works great! Whenever, this keg is empty I will split my batches between bottles and this keg.

This is a good place to start if you interested in kegging...with only a few bucks. Just stick it in your fridge, bring it out and set it on ice. Easy peezy.

Portable system that is very versitile Review by Brandon

Use the C02 injector to dispense beer when ever you need more co2 pressure to serve.

I came up with a cool idea for this sytem, get yourself a 5 gallon rubbermaid cooler. This keg fits like a glove inside. Pack the cooler with ice all around and you'll have cold beer for a couple days.

Another trick is to drill a hole in the cooler lid and feed the beverage line assembly through it (you will have to unscrew a hose clamp...not too hard.) You can arrange somthing similar for the C02 injector as well.

Perfect for those with no space Review by Paul

I needed a smaller keg due to space reasons and sometimes I like to bottle half and keg the other half of my 5 gallon batches. This keg is well made and I love the rubber bottom.
I later got another brand from another company for less money but I got what I paid for. No rubber bottom and the lid doesn't close tight unless there is lots of pressure.
Sure, you can almost get two 5 gallon corny's for the price of one but I can also lager this in my mini fridge.

Very neat and tidy Review by Brewing Bard

I got this keg separately from the injection system. So I'll speak to the keg only.

Keg is great. It has all the features and craftsmanship of a full 5 gallon keg, just chopped in the middle to make it 2.5.

It fits on the bottom shelf of most modern fridges, which is a nice feature since that is how I use it mostly. I have a mini regulator that uses mini paintball CO2 tanks and this makes it very size friendly in the fridge. It also makes it very easily transported to parties or on road trips.

Another great thing about the size is that it makes a great experimentation partner. You can make a batch and see how it tastes on draft and in bottle. See what aging does to the beer flavor and carbonation level. You can play around with adding oak or other items directly to the keg without having to use a secondary or without having to possibly ruin an entire batch.

Splitting batches with this now and later approach is great.

I happened to get this model shortly before the price increased. I've now kegged my third beer and it's worked very well. It uses 2 of the 16 gram cartridges on each keg so far.
I even took it out to the lake one night in a bucket full of ice and while I wouldn't want to work long distances with it full, it was a piece of cake and we enjoyed nice cold, fresh homebrew!

Haven't been able to use this yet. As soon as my Brass Ale is ready three gallons of it will go into my new keg. Keg looks nice and well built.

These are really nice, and a real bargain, if you add up the items you get...! I love using the compact injector for when you bring a keg to a party, rather than dragging a CO2 tank... Keep in mind that the compact injector system cannot force carbonate the keg, just dispense it...so you will either force carbonate it with a tank and regulator, or naturally carbonate in the keg with priming sugar...
