Product Details

Originating from the world famous Maipo Valley wine region in Chile hails this great addition to Winexpert's Classic series. This reputable Merlot is a soft and supple variation with powerful fruit and spicy flavors. Renowned for its ripe cherry character, the Merlot is a perfect partner for red meats, lamb, and hearty stews. A must-have on those crisp autumn evenings.

Merlot is a staple of the wine producing regions of South America. Alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère, the bold, spicy grape contributes to Chile's reputation.

The Winexpert Classic Chilean Merlot small batch wine recipe kit from Winexpert contains all the ingredients you need to make 1 Gallon of high quality wine. Grapes are carefully selected for their quality, crushed, and packaged into this kit.

This stuff is great! My second Merlot, and it's even better than my first.

New to Merlot Kit

These kits are fabulous, for a quick at home wine making experiment. If done right, and all steps are followed, you will have wine in the amount of time specified on the kit. We ordered (3) 1 gallon kits. A Malbec, Merlot, and a Pinot Grigio. All turned out as expected. They are very reliable. I would highly recommend.

Very Nice, Dry, Flavorful, Merlot!

These small kits are really fantastic with consistently reliable, tasty, results. I've made a couple of these now (along with other varieties they sell in this size - Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Moscato) to supplement the fruit wines we typically prefer. It's great to have some classic dry wines around to offer to guests, or to use for cooking, or to drink myself when my husband wants something sweet and I'm in the mood for something dry.
To that end... we bottle these in ten, 375mL sized bottles, instead of full-sized 750mL bottles. That helps a lot, particularly if you have just one guest wanting a dry red and you don't want to open a full bottle that might not be needed.
These kits are also a really good way to start your kit wine-making hobby while also rapidly building up a good variety of homemade wines in your cellar.

Great results

The long and short of it is that I really like how this turned out. It’s very aromatic, smelling of raspberries and cherries. It took about 4-5 weeks to vinify and I left it in the bottle for another 3-4 weeks.
I only have room to do one-gallon batches, so this is perfect, but I am sad that there are only 5 bottles of this beautiful stuff.
