If a yeast starter is used, is it really necessary to use two packs of yeast as comes with the recipe?BEST ANSWER: I don't know if it's really necessary or not. I used both with a yeast starter and the primary fermentation went very well. My batch is still in the secondary fermentation and so far so good.
