Hop Growing Conditions in a Nut-Shell

To have the best results growing your own hops, they need at least half-a-day of full sunlight. At least ten feet vertically, but this is not practical. Prevents vines from twisting together and helps with the harvest of hops. Also prevents problems with air flow and the possibility of disease and along with bug problems. Plant two to three feet apart, three being better. Can be aggressively pruned in the fall by removing the old wood. Can also be pruned aggressively during the growing season.
