What is a "hop rhizome"?

A hop Rhizome is a section of the root system of the hop plant; these are used to asexually reproduce specific hop varieties. Using rhizomes to grow new hop plants ensures the new plants produce the same type of hops as the mother plant. Hop rhizomes are harvested in the early spring and stored in a cold environment until they can be planted in the late spring.

Hop Rhizomes should be planted in full sun in well-drained soil.
