DetailsUnleash an explosion of flavors with the Depth Charge™ Stainless Steel Infuser for Big Mouth Bubbler®. Easy to clean and sanitize, the stainless steel mesh delivers a blast of dry hops, fruit, oak chips, or spices directly into your beer or wine while minimizing the mess. Easily control flavorings to maximize their punch, without the risk of over-extraction.
The unique design allows the mesh basket to be removed at any time, perfect for creating a custom flavor schedule and the removal of nearly all trub material before racking. Never worry about floating specks in your bottles or clogged keg dip tubes ever again. A custom punch-down tool enables regular agitation of the flavorings and helps squeeze every tasty drop from the infuser, without disturbing the rest of the batch. Less wasted beer and wine. More flavor and experimentation. Any infusion you can think of.
Drop the Depth Charge™ into your next batch.

3.7 / 5.06 ReviewsGreat Concept, Too bad I can't use itI am an early adopter and have several of the Big Mouth Bubblers, however they are all the EVO1's. What the description fails to note is that this only works with the EVO2 Big Mouth bubblers as the cage is too long.
Sucks too as I was hoping to use this to dry hop an IPA. Oh well, back to good ole' fashion cheap muslin bags.January 6, 2017Purchased
3 months agoResponse from Midwest SuppliesWe are sorry that we missed that bit of crucial information upon our initial release of the Depth Charge. We have changed the information above that the Depth Charge does not work with 5 Gallon First generation Glass Big Mouth Bubbler. We will be in touch very soon to see how we can help with the dry-hopping of that IPA.January 20, 2017Todd JStaffExcellent AdditionI bought two of these a couple months back and have used them both for dry hopping IPAs and for holding hops during the boil. They work great and reduce the hop particles in my finished product! A great addition to my brewhouse!February 27, 2017Purchased

1 month agoGreat idea, poor executuionPurchased & returned depth charge due to poor screen assembly. Offered screen is also to porous for pellet hops. Needs a 50 gauge screen rather than a 300-400 gauge screen. Acceptable for leaf hops.April 4, 2017

300 Micron meshWould this be able to survive a boil? Possibly as a hop-spider substitute?BEST ANSWER: You would have to modify the mesh cylinder to use it as a hop-spider. I have a hop spider I made out of a 3in to 4in PVC, a mesh bag, a large hose clamp and some carriage bolts that works quite nicely and is much less expensive than risking ruining a nice tool for dry hopping.I got one of these in May of last year; will it work with the Depth Charge or is the EVO 1/2-thing an issue? Thank you.Big Mouth Bubbler® Depth Charge™BEST ANSWER: The depth charger will work with either the plastic or glass BMB as long as you have the lid that came with the depth charger as it's different than the standard lid on the bmb. Will the depth charger keep pellet hops from getting into my beer during dry hop? Or is the screen too porous for pellet hops? Thank youBEST ANSWER: I recently purchased the Depth Charge and have used it twice. I brew 10G batches and split my fermentation between two fermenters. I did an IPA that dry-hops with about 5 oz of hops in each 5G ferementer. I staggered my dry hopping so the first was kegged before I dry hopped the second.
The hops were so packed that I could not use the flat end of the ramrod to push them around. I am happy to report that the Depth Charge kept hop particles out of my beer. It does have a bit of a haze, as you would expect from a NE style IPA, but otherwise clear.
