Good clone
I used the 1098 liquid yeast. Very traditional ESB. The color turned out perfectly and the hop profile is spot on for the style. I might up the crystal malt in the future, just to add a little more character but other than that it is perfect.

Close to Bass Ale
I like Bass ale, so I was excited to try this kit. The beer was excellent. In a side-by-side comparison with real Bass it was a little darker but tasted almost the same. I used the White Labs British Ale liquid yeast.

Tastes just like it!
This kit is as close to a clone as any kit I've ever made before. If you love Bass you have to do yourself a favor and make this kit.

Good kit, very close to the real this. Good mouth feel and very malty flavor.

Brass Ale
Great kit -- solid, very drinkable brew! Recommend using 1098 liquid yeast.

The kit makes a good beer and a good clone. Nice flavor and smell. I think it might be the water salts the kit comes with helping the hops give their best.

Pretty close
I like it. Easy to follow direction.

Reasonably close to Bass Ale
The beer came out ok, and the taste is similar to Bass. I used the Wyeast pack, with 3 weeks in the primary, 4 weeks to clear in a carboy, and 3 weeks to condition.

Makes a good beer
I used distilled water sop that the Burton Water salts wouldn't ruin the taste by giving it too minerally a taste. The clone is a good beer though it's doesn't really taste like Bass. Its drinkable and worth making. If I brew it again I will add a pound of brown sugar.

Beer is ok
Not so close to Bass, but still worth drinking. This was one of the first all grain kits I made. The color and hop profile are good, just that the taste is a little off._x000D_3 stars.

Typical wort volume post sparge (not sparse as previously asked) with this kit?
Rich B on May 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I normally collect 6.5/7 gallons of wort. I have a large boil kettle so I loose at least a gallon during the boil.
What volume of wort do you typically have post sparse?
