1 month agoStrong Cider!Used this along with some organic apple juice and 6lbs of sugar in 6-gallon glass carboy. Activated quick, I leave the airlock off and it bubbles nicely for a few days. The yeast tends to linger mid glass for a while so it could take weeks before it clears unless a fining agent is used. Final result ready in a lil over a month produces a fizzy dry cider (12%) with strong apple flavor. Would purchase again, everyone who tried it loved it!September 3, 2018Purchased
5 months agoDo Not Buy This YeastIf it was possible, I would give this defective product minus 10 stars. I have purchased this product 4 different times. The 2 I purchased from Midwest (during the winter months) failed to activate. I thought maybe the yeast didn't survive shipment, so I bought 2 from local suppliers, kept refrigerated until used, within 2 weeks of purchase, same result. If you decide to use this, keep a pack of dry yeast handy so you can save the batch.January 28, 2018Purchased

Personally, I find it a better yeast than the other 6-8 types I've tried, at least for cider. Flavor is definitely better. I like to mix it with Cotes des BlancHow can you tell that it hasn't started to ferment? It happened to me.BEST ANSWER: The clearest indication would be a hydrometer reading, which would let you know if anything has happened.
