Product Details

The Winemaker’s Trio is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel. This new-world style of wine blends the blackberry, mint and pepper of Syrah, the raspberry, red berry and anise of Zinfandel and the cassis, dark cherry and powerful tannins of Cabernet for w wine that's simultaneously powerful, yet restrained, and fruity, yet structured, with an integrated balance of tannins and acidity. The inviting finish of vanilla, cherry, chocolate and refined tannins begs for another sip.
Bold enough to pair up with Texas barbecue, this wine works with rich, meaty stews and casseroles as well as less weighty dishes, like eggplant Parmigiano.

Great flavors day of bottling

This was my first RJS kit with grape skins. Be aware, when filling the “grape skin sock”, it can be messy, take your time. I followed instructions and decided to filter before bottling. My last kit didn’t have skins, and had sediment after clearing. I used the Buon Vino filter with 1 micron filter pads and transferred directly into a 6 gal carboy. Read that wine needs to rest for 24hrs after filtering before bottling. We ended up with 30 bottles of wine with enough left in the carboy for 2 test glasses. This wine was really good, and am sure will only get better with aging.

Best red kit I've made

I began wine making about two years ago. I have tried several varieties. We had a good Yakima Valley red, but this Trio is the best by far. I just ordered a second kit!

Excellent wine

Made this trio wine and it’s been about six months and opened a bottle at Thanksgiving dinner and everyone raved about it, it was delicious especially for such a young wine. It will only get better as time goes on. This wine is a WINNER!

One of our favorite kits

I’ve made several of these Trio kits and it always comes out great. It is in the short list of favorites. Nice grape blend. Good body and balance.
