Irish ales are malty, smooth, and many, like our kit, are a rich copper-red color. Great taste, drinkability, and low aging requirements make this our best-selling kit.
Irish ales are malty, smooth, medium-bodied, and most, like our kit, are a deep copper-red color that is created by a blend of specialty malts. Our malt blend also gives this recipe its signature toasty and sweet aroma and flavor.
Another defining characteristic of Irish Red Ales are their immense drinkability — definitely a crowd-pleasing beer. Its great taste, drinkability, and low aging requirements make this our best-selling kit.

Good recipe but lacks some flavor depth. Couple of weeks after bottling, it’s finally coming around.
I’ve purchased 10 or so different extract beer kits and the Red Ale is by far the most requested kit. It used to come with US-05, and even though it recommended Nottingham Ale yeast, I stuck with the 05. A little malty, a little sweet, low-ish alcohol, and an easy drinker. It gets better after 3 weeks in keg, that’s it’s prime time. Yum.
This is the fifth time we have brewed this kit. Always easy and always great.
Just drank our first pints of the red Irish ale and the imperial cream ale. Red ale tastes like a nice lighter more “drinkable” beer. Both excellent and the supplies got here very fast in a world where delays are more and more common. Can’t want to order again.
It's on the light side very smooth.very pleased with the results.
