Styled after southern English brown ales, our Nut Brown kit is a great all-around beer: it's easy to brew (its dark color and rich flavor make it forgiving of mistakes), it's mild enough for light beer drinkers, but characterful enough for more experienced brewers and beer lovers. The finished product exhibits a deep copper color, fruity/caramelly flavor and aroma with toasty, chocolatey notes; and it tastes great after just a few weeks.
If you enjoyed Hex Nut Brown Ale, Smooth Nut Brown, or Castle Brown Ale, you'll love this kit!

Brewed this and it is good ,one hopper so pretty easy
A well designed recipe that gave a delicious result. The description of it being forgiving of mistakes makes it sound like a kit for the beginning brewer. Maybe that's true, but the experienced brewer should try this too since it yields such a great beer to enjoy and to share. I bottle my beers and like so many dark beers, it seemed to improve with a little bit of aging. Try this beer if you appreciate this style at all, you won't regret it. I used Wyeast 1335 British Ale II which is also appropriate for this style, but the other yeast options will undoubtedly give similar great results.
Ok looking back at my brew notes, looks like I added 1/4 oz of simcoe @ 15 min boil, also this was my first temp controlled fermentation at 64 deg. (s-04 yeast) 2 weeks final grav 1.006, no secondary, slightly under pitched priming sugar at about 3.5 oz but is getting carbed up nicely after about 3 weeks, Really smooth non bitter great beer to serve non micro beer drinkers,, 5.51 abv, I think this is a good one to keep on hand to enjoy and share with almost anyone..
