My Nut Brown Ale kit arrived promptly, well packaged and complete. I brewed the ale, following the very clear instructions provided. I named it Noisette, which is nut in french. I love the color, the smell and the mouth feel. The taste is great, with hints of summer fruits.

Nut Brown beer is Not Bad

Have brewed this one a few times. Always turns out good. This is one of the easiest (most forgiving) recipes/kits to follow and with the short time to wait before consuming I would recommend this one to anyone just getting started in home brewing.

Mild and refreshing.
This was my first time making a brown ale--I will probably make it again.

Modified Nut Brown

Nut Brown needs another pack of hops, I add what is available used Cascade last time but would like another ounce of Fuggles. To make Nut Brown excellent I add the following with 10 minutes left in boil 1/2 cup molasses, 9 ounces brown sugar (molasses + brown sugar = 1 pound ).
At flame out split a whole vanilla bean in half then cut halves in thirds, add to wort, add to carboy after cooling wort (smaller pieces are easier to remove from carboy after fermentation). At flame out add 1/2 cup fresh home roasted coffee coarse grind or other superior quality coffee.
These modifications make Nut Brown Ale great. Cheers!
