This pale, light-bodied golden ale is copyrighted by, brewed in, and named for the German city of Köln. Kolschbier is traditionally given a long, cold aging period like a lager, which makes for a very smooth and clean beer. A small dose of German Hallertau hops cuts the richness of the malt. "Spritzy" is a word often used to describe Kolsch - very refreshing, and a popular lawnmower beer for beer snobs!

One Cool Kolsch
So A friend and I chose this Kolsch for a little friendly competition. I must say even if I have to wait until July to sample it head to head I am not disappointed in the profile so far. The kit should include some Irish moss for extra clarity but I was very satisfied with the outcome.

It was my first time brewing a beer and it turned out really great, I bought my own yeast from a local home brew store. I had never tasted a kolsch before but the taste it ended up with matches those on Google. It’s a really great drink for summer I’m glad I started brewing it in April.
