A larger size for larger batches of beer, or higher gravity beers. Sometimes you just need a big yeast starter for a big beer. The correct sized stopper is available in the related products section on the left. Currently this flask uses a 9.5 stopper. Do not apply direct heat to the flask.

I like to make my starters in this flask, it works great.
Its actually a little larger than my old flask, so there is less chance of a boil over. It's not as thick so it can break more easily.
It has more interior volume than my other 2 liter flask. The glass is not as thick but so far it still works fine on the gas stove then after a minute on a oven mitt, it goes into the sink.
1000 ML is too small, this is a good size. _x000D_I use it on a gas stove without problems, _x000D_I will say it's a little thinner than my friends flask, so it's not as sturdy or well made.
Its a little thinner (i.e more breakable) than my other flask, but I got it so I'd have a back up. If you really want to brew well, you need to make a starter. IF you want to make a starter you need a flask and a stir plate._x000D_
