lager review

The German Perle Pellet Hops made a mild tasting beer without a strong hoppy flavor. Next time I would add more hops. It will make a good summer beer chilled very cold.

Great for all lagers

I use this hop for all my lagers and German beer styles. It’s great for helles, Pilsner and I even use it for a sour gose that is great. I would say this isn’t a great hop variety for high bitterness beers. Anything over about 40 ibu would probably overwhelm it. It is my go to hop variety for low bitterness noble hop flavors.

Nice hops for a Belgian Triple.

I like the light flavor of these hops. They are not pungent or overpowering.

SMASH hop for light lagers

I've made some really good light lagers and wheat beers using only Perle. It's got a minty clean bittering and a spicy "green hop" aroma.

Floral

Perle has a nice floral aroma that make it good as an aroma hop or as a 15 minute flavor hop. Its low in bitterness (compared to the American grown Perle) so more can be used to impart the fruity floral flavor. I use it in Lagers and Kolschs.
