Handy Filter

I have only used it once and it worked well to filter my hops with no clogging. Kept my wort clean. Works we'll.

Snug fit

It clogs if you have hops debris in the wort, so you must use a hops bags. When it clogs I have to stop the wort flow, pour in/ throw away whats trapped, dump it, rinse it and sanitize it. Not fun on brew day.

Good to have after many brew sessions

This is a good replacement strainer for your funnel. The original lasted a long time but it was nice that I could easily replace the strainer without having to buy a new funnel.

For large particles

This is a fine mesh and will catch everything. If you have lots of small particles (like if your hops bag tears) then this is going to catch that and block. It's almost too effective.

Fits but clogs

It's good because nothing gets around the sides. The difficulty I encountered is there are more fine particles than i expected in my wort, and this strainer catches everything, and clogs. What I needed to do was repeatedly stop the flow, dump the pool of wort back into the pot, then spray off the mesh with a squirt bottle and star it up again. That and using a small foam brush to scrape holes through the ooze to allow liquid through. It took a long time but I got it done. The moral of the story is - be careful and don't let hops get out of a hops bag.
