One of the six original players in Bordeaux wines, Malbec is definitely the burliest, with inky dark color, robust tannins and rich, juicy plum-like flavors. These are backed up by blackberry and black cherry aromas, while an undercurrent of leather and gamey-earthy notes flirts with pepper and tobacco to draw out the finish.
South Americans know Malbec's strength, and they serve it with spicy grilled meat of all kinds--lamb, venison, beef and pork--but it works equally well with robust spicy foods, especially Mexican Mole.

The wine came out excellent! The only thing I did not like about this kit was that you were supposed to check the specific gravity every day until it was within a certain,,then you added the yeast nutrient. I'm not sure I understand why the yeast nutrient could not just have been added in the beginning. The end product was fine though, so worth the extra trouble?
The kit is a bit different then the ones we normally use. Daily stirring? Yeast nutrient after a week? Then to top it off the wood chips were added to the secondary carboy which spilled over the top. Doubt if we will use this kit again as there are more simplified ones out there. Winexpert is our go to less hassle, good wine.
Fantastic wine. Came in perfectly. I'll be doing this again.
This is a good Malbec kit, it’s in my closet right now bubbling away! We liked this so much, that this is the second batch I’ve made. If you like a good Malbec, I would definitely recommend this one.
Still young in the bottle but, Well balanced and very drinkable.
