Product Details

Life is complex. Weekday Wine is simple. Savor life’s simple, sippable pleasures with Master Vintner® Weekday Wine™ Merlot Recipe Kit.

The fruit-forward, medium-bodied Merlot has prominent notes of black cherry, plum, and chocolate with a hint of vanilla on the nose. Its medium-full body, medium-high tannin, and medium acidity all help it go with a variety of foods, making it an ideal starter wine to your meal. Pair with mushroom pizza, steak quesadillas, spaghetti with marinara sauce, mild and strong cheeses - but make sure to keep some wine for dessert, as it pairs especially well with dark chocolate.

Aroma: Fruity, Spicy

Origin: France

Wonderful Merlot for the money!

I am surprisingly happy with this Merlot after it has aged a few months.. Was a bit watered down at first taste as kit contained half the amount of juice of the more expensive Kit. Its only 10% ABV but that is okay for me..

Still in process however instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. As with all recipes I’ve tried I fully expect this Merlot to be very good.

Merlot wine kit, Weekday wine

The wine kit was purchased to make a desert style wine (more like a ruby port) and not as intended by the directions.
My primary fermenter was filled to only 4 gallons. SG was 1.12. I let it ferment to 1.01 and added 3 cups of sugar. Once my SG was back to 1.01 I transferred it to my secondary fermenter. At five weeks in the secondary fermenter I added a clarifying agent, sulfate and a chocolate sweetener flavoring. Tasting before adding the sweetener and bottling was a very smooth semi-sweet Merlot and only slightly dry wine. (Very good in my humble opinion unless you like extra dry)
With that said my goal was a chocolate flavored dessert wine which it turned out unbelievably good. I bottled at about eight weeks

One year mark - this stuff is awesome!

I thought this was pretty good when I bottled it. Tonight, I opened a bottle that was a year and a day after bottling and this was one of the best bottles of merlot I’ve ever had. You will not be disappointed
