One of two strains for mead making. Leaves 2-3% residual sugar in most meads. Rich, fruity profile complements fruit mead fermentation. Use additional nutrients for mead making.

Fermentation stalled half way thru in primary. Had to rack and re pitch. Will stay with my dry packs from now on.
I was not really all that impressed with this. It puffed up in the package, but when I added it, it did not see to ferment at all. No bubbles, nothing. Perhaps it was user error on my part, but it did not work for me. Luckily I had a back up yeast that seemed to work nicely.
Easy to use. Would like to see it come in smaller volumes for smaller batches.
This is my first time for making mead . I have have made fruit wine for some time now. Erratic bubbles in the air lock and lack of activity in the must told me the yeast was not working. After two additional energized and nutrient applications, still not adequate. After research, I found that one package of yeast was only good to s.g.1.065 the recipe I am using calls for1.100 s.g. which requires 3 packs of yeast. This information should be available at time of purchase and should have full chart on the amply sized package.
I used this for a true mead, and a melomal... both turned out great. Left some honey, so no need to back sweeten.... ended around 13% ABV, 5 gallon batches, approx. 13lbs honey
