Product Details

Bourbon Barrel Oak Chips are the perfect way to add barrel-aged flavors to your beer without having to maintain a barrel. Bourbon Barrel Oak Chips will impart wonderfully intoxicating flavors and aromas of bourbon and oak including notes of caramel, brown sugar, and vanilla. Can be used with wine or ciders as well.

Bourbon Barrel Oak Chips Usage:

Use 2 - 4 oz per 5-gallon batch. Sample the beer after one week with the chips. If a more intense flavor is required age an additional week and sample again. Once the flavor is to your liking transfer the beer off the chip and bottle or keg as normal.

Bourbon barrel oak chips

These impart a nice flavor addition to red wine! I’ve used them on zinfandel, a red blend, am getting ready to to half a batch of sangiovese on regular oak and half on bourbon barrel chips and am trying some fume blanc with a gallon or two of sauvignon blanc. These give subtle vanilla overtones and add some complexity.

Love them! We aged maple syrup in bourbon barrels for 6 months and they did not quite have the tase we were looking for so we added the chips and let set for 2 days longer and the taste was much better.
