Great for Yeast Starter

I use this for my yeast starter. Mix 1/2 cups of this DME with 1 litter of water. Boil for 15 minutes. Add to your sanitized beaker. Cool in ice bath with sanitized tin foil covering mouth of beaker. Add your yeast. Recover beaker. Wait two or more days to use in your wort. I also use a stir plate.

Superlative fill-in

I got a beer kit as a xmas gift from my Bro-in-Law. It was a competing beer-kit seller [okay, it was Bell's, and the kit was Hopslam®]. The only problem was, their kit came without a required 4th pound of light DME; it had substituted wheat DME in its place. When queried, their 'expert' said that wheat for light DME "probably would not" affect the end product. "Probably not". They did not correct the oversight and send a replacement pound of light DME.

...so I had to buy my own. Which is where Midwest came in.

I brewed the beer and have had a few at this point. It turned out exactly as it should have, without any "probably not" affects of freelance substitutions.
