Just in time for summer. Strawberry Watermelon White Shiraz has candied strawberry and watermelon aromas; light body, and the medium sweet flavour of refreshing strawberry and watermelon.

Island Mist wine kits are light, refreshing and perfect for summertime sipping with friends and family. They take just four weeks from start to finish and are drinkable right away.

Island Mist products yield 23 litres (approximately thirty 750 ml bottles) of finished beverage.

Strawberry / watermelon Sweet or dry????

Tried this wine as my previous summer time strawberry wine was excellent and getting low. I do have to include a bit of a trick for summer wines. Well when I made the prior batch I added the strawberry puree in at the start, not at the clarification 2’ndary. I also added a tad more sugar to bring it to 1.080. My reasoning is that the wine in summer is over ice and it is watered down bringing it to a lower alcohol %. The wine turned out great, not too sweet full of strawberry flavor and bouquet. This batch strawberry/ watermelon, I switched it up by still adding sugar. I added the flavor packet at clarification as directed by the manufacturer. The wine turned out a tad sweeter than I like, with the % at 14. So all and all happy. Next batch, it will be both pouches in the primary then adjusted for gravity.
