Product Details

This Mini-Jet has a self-priming pump! Turn it on and it will draw liquid from your carboy or fermenter directly into the pump and through the filter pads, with no siphoning, no fussing around, and no mess! You get brilliantly polished wine in only minutes, and you never have to worry about stopping and starting the filter if you need to: turn it back on and it simply starts where it left off! You can bottle your clear wine with the happy knowledge that it will be stable in the bottle and look great for years to come.

Clear, fined wine is very pretty, and shows well in a glass. But filtered wine has a diamond sparkle to it that catches the eye, and looks more like a commercial wine. It’s the difference between a freshly washed car and a freshly waxed car. Both are great, but one is noticeably more appealing.

Mini-Jet filters use three different grades of pads for for increasing levels of polish. Whichever filter pad you use, we strongly recommend using the Buon Vino pre-filter setup with your Mini-Jet if your wine contains oak chips or powder, or if it contained grape skins. All small pumps are designed specifically to move liquids with low levels of suspended material, and the small, efficient and easy-to-clean pre-filter helps ensure your pump head maintains maximum efficiency as you filter your delicious wine.

Needed but not included: Mini Jet Filters

Vino Mini Jet Filter

I've wanted to get a wine filter for some time but I usually only work on two batches of wine a year now so harder to justify. The filter did everything that it was supposed to do. However, I would suggest doing a quick search on the internet for additional advice. One of the complaints is the leakage which can be slowed down by using a couple additional clamps. Not a big deal to do and helps with the process. The other suggestion is to use a racking cane for the output side to have better control of the tubing. That worked great! Setup and cleanup are really easy and it didn't take long to filter the wine once running. Overall I'm happy with the quality of the product and would recommend getting it and stocking up on a few sets of filters.

Great little filter/pump

I've been using my Mini-Jet for a couple of years now and have probably run 60 gallons or more through it and really love it for putting a nice polish and filter on your 6 gallon batches. I just run the #2 filter set and find it really does a nice job. Yes, there is some leakage but just run a sanitized line to a catch bottle for re-filtering. It does a nice job of not over-aerating your wine as long as you're not pulling air. Could use a little more weight in the base or one more leg though. I upgraded to stainless washers on the clamp plate. Would recommend if u want to put that professional touch on your wine kits.
