Product Details

Sparkolloid is by far, our most popular and effective wine clarifier. Mix one tablespoon of sparkalloid into 1 cup of boiling water. Boil for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. While solution is still warm, mix into 6 gallons of wine and stir gently. For best results, wait at least a month before bottling. Size: 1 Lb.

Works very well

Tried this and it worked well.
I have found that the wine you start with has to have been racked and clarified to some extent say with bentonite, so somewhat cloudy is an acceptable starting point.
I did not find that 1 tablespoon is enough, but rather 2 tblsn works much better. Boil 1 cup of water and add the 2 tblspn, boil for another 5 minutes, then slowly pour it into 5 gallons of wine while stirring.
Then let it set for a week minimum; my experience is that it clarifies it to completely clear, ready for bottling - add a camden tablet per gallon, additional sweetening and flavoring, and seal it up for later consumption.

Sparkaloid

I have always used bentonite in thr beginning of my mead ferments with good result. I thought i would try this product to get a little more polish. It was amazing the difference. This last brew (mead) i cut back by half the amount of bentonite and was surprised that the clarity remained the same
