Product Details

Wyeast 1084 is an ideal ingredient in the production of stouts, porters, wee heavy, ambers and red ales.
This yeast ferments extremely well in dark roast worts. Beers fermented in the lower temperature range produce dry and crisp beers to fruity beers with a nice compexity in the upper range. Ester production is enhanced with fermentation temperatures above 64F (18 C). Flocculation is low to moderate with filtration typically required.

  • Designed to directly inoculate 5 gallons of wort

  • Contains 125 mls (4.25 oz. or 128 grams) liquid yeast & malt-based nutrient blend

Blond ale kit

I ordered the Irish blond ale kit and brewed according to the instruction. After primary fermentation I added 4 pounds of blackberries to the secondary. The beer was outstanding and I give the credit mainly to the kit and Wyeast 1084 yeast from Midwest supplies. You people make it easy.

Great yeast

It got to work quick and finished strong. Moved the Baltic porter from OG of 1.082 to 1.037 in 48 hours at 68-70F and then pushed on to 1.027 by day 7. After another week and a cold crash it finished at FG 1.026, not bad on a 52 SRM beer with the base being Munich Dark (50%) and more than 34% of specialty grains. 68% apparent attenuation for this yeast in this batch. Will be sampling it in about 2 weeks, 5 weeks post brew.
