4.4 / 5.065 ReviewsStill no leaksGoing on year 4 of using this on a bottling bucket, and have yet to have a leak. Makes me wonder - are people not installing this correctly into their buckets? _x000D__x000D_1. Drill a 1" hole into the side of the bucket. Remove burrs with a knife._x000D_2. Make sure bucket surface, and the supplied gaskets are clean and dry._x000D_3. Put one gasket on the shank of the valve, insert it into the hole in the bucket, slide the other gasket onto the shank from the inside, then screw on the supplied plastic nut and secure tightly._x000D__x000D_I take it apart and clean after every use, reassemble, and test each time. No leaks.August 25, 2011Good....but not Great! As the other reviews stated, this product DOES leak. But there is a simple fix...I popped the red spigot out and wrapped it Teflon Tape...BOOM....problem fixed! Just takes a little troubleshooting and you'll be bottling in no time!!!April 15, 2011Good SpigotThis spigot fit perfectly with my pre-drill bucket. Helps a lot with bottling. Up until recently I was fermenting in my bottling bucket. It was the only one I had. On one of my last brews it started leaking a bit. I recommend getting a couple extra gaskets and change them every couple of uses.February 11, 2014No issuesIt came with my bottling bucket and works without any problem. Its hard to clean, and I discard it when I get a new bottling bucket. Stick on the bottle filler and fill away.December 20, 2013SpigotAlways flawless. To clean, i like to hook it up to my raking cane and really blast the cleaner through it, for maximum agitation. If i don't lose it, i am sure it will last forever. Thanks Midwest!!!January 26, 2014Good ProductThis is a good product that breaks down to clean very easily. On the rare occasion that I do bottle my batch, it works really well.January 27, 2014Best for bottlingIts better than the drum tap and easy off spigot for bottling._x000D_I attached a filler with a one inch long piece of tubing so it hangs directly from the spiggot.February 11, 2014No ProblemsUse a spade bit slightly smaller than the thread diameter so it is screwed into the bucket wall with gaskets on both sides of the bucket wall no problem leakingApril 16, 2011KISS methodDon't over think this thing. It is dirt simple but works great. I have bought three different models and this one is the best. The gaskets are much softer and therefore much easier to seal. It does hang down below bucket so I simply put in on about 20 degrees of vertical and voila. It seals so well I can use my bottling buckets as fermenters.August 23, 2014Greatest Bottling Bucket out thereWe have many of these and use them on a daily basis for bottling specialty beers and limited run beers. None of them have ever leaked or broken and ours get some use and abuse. _x000D__x000D_Highly recommended A+September 14, 2011

Browse 1 question Browse 1 question and 3 answersWhat size are the threads? I usd the othe spigot with 3/4" threads and a pvc elbow as a dip tube. These threads are a different size.BEST ANSWER: The diameter of the threads on the spigot I have is approx. 0.950" and the thread pitch measures to be 10 tpi. Much unlike a 3/4" NPT which is nominal diameter of 1.050" and has 14 tpi (threads per inch). I used mine in a 1" hole with the included washer on either side and the nut on the inside. It doesn't seem to be compatible with common plumbing sizes. Hope this helps.
