From the land where brewing takes on a religious devotion. Belgian Biscuit malt is a unique lightly toasted malt that contributes a slew of warm, earthy, toasted malt flavors and aromas. It promotes a light to medium garnet brown color and imparts a toasty finish to the beer with complex nutty flavors and an aroma of baking bread. It can be used in small percentages to add complexity and color to lighter beers, or in larger amounts in dark beers such as nut brown ales to deliver the characteristic nutty, toasted biscuit flavors. 24.5°L

Used in an ESB - added great flavor to the brew. Also, I love how the grains are packaged in a small, easy to open bag.

I recently used this grain in a honey ale and it turned out fabulous. Nice toasty notes from the grain complimented the caramel notes from the crystal malt and the sweetness from the honey. A definite winner.

Adds a nice flavor to Belgian ales
It tastes more like saltines than biscuits. In anycase it works well in Belgian ales. I use it in English ales as well. I use 6 ounces, though a couple more or less would be ok for a 5 gallon beer.

steep or mash ???

BEST ANSWER: Either is fine, I steeped the Biscuit Malt when brewing with extracts and have since gone to all grain, so it’s just part of the mash now.
