Fawcett Brown Malt

This is an integral component of my favorite English Brown Ale!

One of the kits I made used this malt and it adds a nice color and flavor beyond the base malt. I gave it 6 weeks in the secondary to finish clearing and letting the flavors blend. Those 6 weeks gave the beer time to improve and for the Brown malt to come through.

It smells and tastes great and is the key ingredient for English Brown ales and English Milds. It can take a while for the brown malt flavor in the beer to mellow out. The first few weeks in the keg and it will only taste like brown malt though after that it will become more balanced.
